How do you troubleshoot if your HP Desk Jet 1000 won’t print colour?

Why is my printer not printing in colour even though it has ink?

First, check your printer settings on the file or picture you are trying to print. If your page is setup to print in grayscale, it will only print in black and white. Step 9 Switch the printer on.

Step 10 Open the catridge door, wait for the carriage to come to the centre, wait till it is still, and then open the carriage door.

Step 11: Press the cartridge you want to replace lightly and pull it towards yourself.

Step 12 Remove the new cartridge from its cover and remove its protective tape.

Step 13: Put the new cartridge in its new slot and close the carriage door.
